Bignose and Beardy

Bignose and Beardy are based in the wilds of East Sussex and I've had theirs on several occasions. Time to get some bottles and review.

Cockhaisy 2022

Dry

Slightly yeasty sweet and sharp apple nose

Quite dry high tannin but with a decent apple skin taste. A sharp sour aftertaste but it is quite refreshing. Sadly I got quite a soapy taste from somewhere which I found off putting.

Overall not a bad flavour but not brilliant with the soapyness, others have called it a 'residual bitterness' which may be true. Small bottles which is good as it could be an acquired taste.

Medium

Dry Medium

Light golden, slightly cloudy and flat from the box

Nice rich sweetish apple nose

An interesting little cider. Bit of tartness and a fair belt of apple in the body which makes it go down easy and a nice long lingering aftertaste. Strangely though, as for the CockHaisy, for me it had a little bit, just a little bit of hoppy soapiness which is slightly odd. I'd love to know what that is. A little bit sweet for medium I think

Nice enough little medium but that slight soap whatever that is puts me off a little 2/5.
