Heck's Cider

Kingston Black

Medium Dry

Copper coloured

Strong fresh apple smell.

Heavy, strong bittersweet cider flavour with a good tang and a good solid dry aftertaste. 6.5 and feels like it. Good, but not a session cider. Decent example of single variety Kingston Black but there are better

Vintage

Dry

Golden colour, very hazy and flat

Farmyard nose. Lots of farmyard but you do get a bit of fruit.

Oh wow that is dry. Very astringent with lots of tannin. Fruit gets totally drowned out and just gives you a farmyard straw flavour. Strangely a little bit of vanilla as well. You do get some mouth wetness on the top of the tongue but the rest of the mouth is as dry as a dead dingo.

Not balanced enough for me I’m afraid and was a struggle to get through it because of the dryness.
