capel Rd Blend no 3 | Dry | Amber, clear and sparkling Gentle fermented apple nose with a bit of honey I think Lots of honey or toffee in the taste with a nice smooth bittersweet apple skin flavour. Little bit of zing to give it a bit of a sherbet texture. Long, slightly tart aftertaste which makes it nice and refreshing. I’d call this a medium cider I must say almost medium sweet. I have no idea where they get the dry smokey flavour that they describe on the tin – you do get a tiny amount of oak in there if you squint. Having said that I actually quite liked this one. It’s pitched at the hipster/craft market but it’s a decent session cider and I’d certainly drink more. Shame they’ve pitched it at the small tin/craft beer market. A pint bottle would be much more honest. | ★★★★★ | 5.2% |

Cloudy Vintage | Medium Dry | Golden, slightly hazy (probably - I really let my bottle settle so it was clear) with a long lasting foam on the head Funky nose with a bit of yeast in there, but mainly deep vintage cider smell Not a bad flavour. Soft Bittersharp apples with plenty of depth of flavour to it. No tannin, and a touch of oak. Quite a short aftertaste which is surprising. Not a bad little drop. Very quaffable and hard to tell it's 7% so take care. I see this in pubs often and would go well with a pub meal. | ★★★★★ | 7.3% |

Medium Dry Vintage | Medium Dry | Gold clear and flat from the barrel, very sparkling from the bottle. Tart nose with a bit of caramel That has a kick to it. Deep caramel flavour on top of the apple almost burnt caramel as it has that slight burnt bitter/wooden hint. Shortish aftertaste mainly of that caramel Little or no tannin but fairly dry. That burnt bitter taste slightly dominates this one for me and Im not a big fan. My partner quite liked it though so to your taste. | ★★★★★ | 8.2% |

Perry | Medium Sweet | Pale yellow, clear, sparkling. Good fresh sweet pear and apple nose. Aged and smooth to drink with a gentle fruit flavour (both apple and pear) initially with a drying aftertaste but ending quite mouth watering. Not the biggest pear taste but perfectly pleasant and easy to drink, so again beware at 7.4%! | ★★★★★ | 7.4% |

Marks and Spencers Weston's Pear Cider | Medium | Straw clear and sparkling Huge sweet pear nose you get when pouring Not a bad flavour. Fair amount of conference pear without it being too pear drop and artificial. Quite refreshing and it does have a bit of sharpness. Nice long fresh fruity aftertaste. They say dry on the bottle but I’d call it medium as a whole with some dry hints when you roll it round the mouth Not a bad little supermarket cider. Question is whether it's made from concentrate or not. Nice to see since I did this review M&S have started selling Sheppys which is brilliant. | ★★★★★ | 7.3% |
